Cases for 60" cues w/JPs

Hello, all. I am thinking of getting a 60" cue, 30" shafts and butt, which will also have joint protectors of as yet undetermined length. I am discovering that this can be a problem because apparently many cases are designed for the standard 58" with JPs. So my questions are these:

1. What is the ideal length of a case for a 58" cue with joint protectors? And, where do you measure the case, outside end to outside end or what?

2. Same question for a 59" cue.

3. Same question for a 60" cue.

Finally, do any of you have any suggestions on the best cases for a 60" or 59" cue, especially a 60 incher? I'd appreciate a "top 5" list, with 1 being the best. Please take into account quality, materials, beauty, cue protection ... and cost, and any other important details to know.

I'm thinking of 2 x 4s, 3 x 7s, and 4 x 8s. I'd also want a shoulder strap with pad at least. And, I'd like the lids to be impossible to open on their own accidentally. A storage pouch or two would be nice too.

My budget is modest, not big.

Thank you all in advance.

I have a 60"'er that won't fit into either of my Whitten's, but fits fine in my Talisman "tribal" case. I'm very happy with the quality of the case and the price as well. The Talisman Tribal is $339 here.

My 60"s fit in my It's George with the joint protectors. Also, they fit in Engles cases and Cenntennials.

They will fit in the instroke buffalo. Dunno about the other instroke cases. I have 60" cues and they fit with room to spare.

Talisman Original

My cue and jp together is 31" and there is 1 1/2" of space between my Talisman lid.

I have a few 59" cues....one has joint protectors, and the butt won't fit in my George, Instroke, or Justis case with the joint protector on....

It fits fine in my cheap ProSeries case though.

I may be wrong, but with your "modest budget", you may be limited to an Instroke case. (Not a bad thing at all.) They, for as long as I can remember, have provided enough room for 60" plus.

I will agree here...I have two of the Instroke Premier (heavy duty vinyl) 1x2 cases and one of the Premier 2x3 cases....and when I owned a 60" cue, it fit in to all with no problem with JP's on. By far the best price I have found on these is from www.hawleys.com. It is where I have purchased all three of mine...plus they're one of the few retailers online that actually offer the Premiers in both of the available colors...black and burgundy.

I have owned my 1x2 cases for about 8 years now, and they have weathered the years quite well...the vinyl is upholstery grade and extremely heavy-duty...and looks very much like leather.
