Casting Call....Mosconi vs. Fats -- The Mini-Series

With all of the mini-series type shows being produced lately, I think a Mosconi vs. Fats drama could be really interesting.

The drama follows the two different players as they are coming up -- jumping back and forth -- contrasting their different upbringings, with some pool mixed in of course.

The underlying theme would be about Mosconi's disdain of pool hustlers and of course Fats' scenes would show him reveling in it.

The series would culminate in a final battle between the two.

We just need to figure out who's going to play who.
 
I'm not much of a TV watcher but I would surely tune in to that one. I am also not up on current actors but were Philip Seymour Hoffman still with us I think he could do an excellent "Fats".

I would imagine that you have already read "The Champion and the Hustler" which would probably be the basis of much of the shows episodes.

Sadly, I don't think it would have much of an audience...of course all of us would be watching but my guess would be that few others would find it of interest...But great idea none the less.
 
If the focus was more on the drama, then I think there would be some great interest in a mini-series.

I used one of those Celebrity Look A Like Generators. You know, the one where you upload a picture of yourself and it tells you what celebrity you look like.

The matches for Fats were Bill Clinton, Richard Dreyfuss, Michael Keaton, and Ben Kingsley.

There were a bit more for Mosconi.
