I've caught my younger cat (2 years old) on the table pawing balls into the pockets ! She's pretty good !!! But now I make sure to take all balls off the table when I walk away, she is not interested if there are no balls ... my older cat (7 or 8) has very little interest in anything.
I have trained my Golden Retriever to bark at / chase the cats when I yell at them (for example when one jumps on the stove). I don't dangle the kitties, nor does the dog think to hurt them, they're his buddies. But if I yell at the cats he WILL get involved, it's great
When we first got the older beast we decided to get her declawed (front only), but my wife came back from the vets with a 'better idea'. The vet talked her into using these hot pink plastic 'claw covers' that are CA glued on. We eventually found all 10 (?) of them on the floor over the next two weeks ... useless things these claw covers.
