What if everyone that won a bet in the Action Room put 10% towards a fund to be given to the BEF and also for raising money for junior players directly? So you place a $500 bet, win, the guy that lost sends you $450 and $50 goes to the fund. Or maybe do 10% for smaller bets and 5% for larger bets. And/or from the For Sale forum, $5 or $10 or $20 per cue/item sold goes into the fund.
I got this idea in my head after I read the post from Juice about a fundraiser tournament for a kid that is going to the World Jr Championship but the tournament is only paying 1/2 to the player and there is $250 added to the tournament instead of ALL of the funds going to the kid and the tournament winners get a trophy and a free burger.
Just does not seem quite right that anyone should expect to get money for doing well in a charity event, you go there to help out and have some fun.
You guys put together $250 for my son to go to Jr Nationals this year, but something like an ongoing fund from here with a few $ coming in constantly could help out a lot of kids. Especially since there are members with enough spare cash around to place multi thousand dollar bets and buy up multi thousand dollar cues to put in a case and look at. Think of what a few 100 a week coming from this site can do for BEF and similar organizations.
