Centergistics

I learned the term from RandyG at his pool school. It is a standard reference point or baseline from which you measure different aspects of the game. If you think of center ball hit as a centergistic, then moving various distances from that point give you a constant way of measuring your spin. If you find your natural stroke speed, then increasing or decreasing from that point allows you to have a sort of mental speedometer for your stroke. The centergistic for measuring angles is the straight-in shot...all cut angles are degrees off from straight in.

Centergistics allow you to more accurately measure what you are doing. A very wise man told me many years ago that you "can't manage anything that you can't measure." Centergistics help us to manage our pool game.
