CF Shaft Question

This may be a stupid question, but I’ll ask anyway. In the past I had a cue where the shaft collars were slightly smaller than the joint. The shafts were refinished and the difference was fixed with build up of the clear coat. Does anyone ever do anything similar, or have a similar solution, with aftermarket CF shafts?

I've had to build up epoxy / clearcoat / superglue on a few occasions to match a specific diameter when something was too thin for whatever reason.... It's not the best solution, but it will suffice if necessary...
