I think you're probably referring to is what everybody else seems to be calling dark blue. I think what they're calling light blue is what is officially green, kinda looks in between blue and green to me.
Maybe we're both missing something. :)
 
I use Master red at home. I have the same complaint as everyone else. It just seems a bit lighter and doesnt coat as well as the dark blue. Next time I re-felt my table, I plan to use a color that will allow me to switch to dark blue chalk.
