When someone miscues, the old saying "chalk is free" usually comes up. I think most pool room owners would beg to differ.
This auction just goes to show that there is a collector and an interest for all kinds of things. People often ask if a certain cue is really worth x amount of dollars... to me it might not be, to someone else, it might be a bargain. Personally, I wouldn't pay $43 for chalk but show me something that I'm interested in, and I just might spend $43 on it.
Something is really only "worth" what someone is willing to pay for it.
