Championship Cusions

I am currently in the process of reclothing my table. This table is over 25 years old and i feel that now would be a good time to replace the cushions. I would love to put Artemis on, but due to the fact that the only money coming in is an unemployment check, i feel the need to put on championship cushions for half the price. Since this table isnt all that expensive, Will i notice a diference with these cushions as opposed to Artemis? if so, how much? My plan is to get them from POOLFELT.COM as i have heard that this site is owned by a fellow AZ'er. Thank you - Jon

Replacing 25yr old original cushions would be an improvement.
On a low end table Artemis won't make much difference.
Guessing you need K66 I'd suggest the Velocity cushions which IMO play
a bit better then Champs Pro-Ams.

Oh-no

Thank you Dartman, Unfortunatley what i believed to be an inexpensive table truly is. After taking off the featherstrips and staples to reveal the cushions, to my suprise are what i believe to be the U-23 profile:eek:. Is there a way to convert to K-66 to gain better play or am i stuck with what i've got? If I'm stuck, any recommendations for a good U-23? The surface of the rail in which the cushion attaches is 1" on the money. by lightly trimming the or planeing the rail side, could i achieve the use of a K-66 style cushion without affecting play?

Converting won't guarantee better play on a cheapo table.
Just replace with fresh U23 rubber - should improve play somewhat until you move into a better table.
And that's something to consider before putting $ into this one.
