I am trying to get the bolt out of a schon, anyone know of an easy way, if there is a easy way, I have a lighter bolt I want to put in.

I believe that the weight bolt is a part of the design of the cue and is not intended to be removed.

I've owned a number of Schon cues that i've bought, played with a while, and then sold. I've had good luck changing the weight bolts on Schons and I had a bad experience on one newer Schon that the bolt just wouldn't come out of. I did what Mike Webb has suggested which is to use an easy out to remove the weight bolt, but it took a small size easy out to screw in the weight bolt screw hole and my easy out snapped off in the end of the weight bolt when I tried to break the weight bolt loose and then I really had a problem since I couldn't get the easy out out of the weight bolt to put the bumper back on.

I contacted Evan Clark at Schon cues and told him what happened and he said that the newer design cues were designed for the weight bolt to help hold the butt cap in place. I'd never heard that before and the bottom line was I had to send the cue to Schon cues and they got the bolt out with the broken easy out stuck in it.

I'd try to break the bolt loose with a big head flat screw driver, but if it didn't want to break loose i'd forget it. You may need a friend to help you hold the cue or do what I did and put the big screw driver in a vise and hold the cue with both hands and press the bolt against the end of the screw driver in the vise and try to turn it with both hands pushing against the screw driver. You can get the bolt out of most Schons, but be prepared in case you have one that won't break loose.
