Changeing predator female shaft inserts

I have a predator 314 2nd generation, it is a 5/16x18, i had it made to match a cue i had made from mike erwin so it has matching ringwork ,i sold the cue and the guy that bought it did not want the shaft,and i have no other 5/16x18 thread cues all i have anymore are 3/8x10 and radial pin cues, so i am wondering if it's possible to have it converted over to 3/8x10, as i look at the insert the outside diameter is larger then the 3/8x10 pin , so i was wondering if a cue repairman or maker , can tell me if someone makes a 3/8x10 insert ? I know all my 3/8x10 are just drilled and tapped to 3/8 but i seen the mcdermott i shafts look like they have a insert , if not i will see if someone wants to trade for a 3/8x10 or i will have to buy one , but if they do make inserts i will have to have the collar changed to a plain black collar also , i would appreciate it if anyone could help, i am new here and tried 3 times to post this and it did not go through, hopefully this one does, thanks

It can be done very easy by any experienced cue reapairman or cue maker. However, the cost will vary from area to area so I will not post any prices.

You have touched on something that I have been pondering as of late.
I find it to be counter productive for someone to quote a price and in the same breath state that they are too busy to undertake it.
What that does is to 'trap' everyone thereafter, who would be interested in doing the work, to conform to THAT price quote.

Not only do repair costs vary by region of the country, they most definitely vary from one CM to another and there can be a myriad of reasons for this.
I no longer quote repair costs in an open forum. Instead, I request a PM from the person seeking repair and who is interested in having me do the work. Price will be discussed privately. I have no interest in involving myself in a bidding war. If a CM is willing to do the work for a cheaper price, more power to them. I know what it costs to open the door of my shop, figuratively speaking. I suspect that someone working out of their garage or on their front porch will have significantly less overhead than I and more likely than not, they should be able to under-cut my price. If price is the primary concern, where does quality of work fit into the scenario?

At the end of the day, it will be the buyer that decides.

I agree with you completely andI also think it is counter productive for all concerned. The buyer becomes confused, other repairmen are under cut for their work, and in the end no one is really served.

I've never had direct dealings with Craig, but I have w/ Ryan & KJ. Both very accommodating.
I always appreciate a conversation of this tenor on the forum, and it must be awfully heartening for a prospective customer & new forum member as above.

Thanks for your info, im waiting to see if the guy bought my one erwin that it was for , gets back to me , if he doesn't want the shaft i may be calling you kj. Thanks for your reply, ed
