Changes/Short Changed $$$$$$

A young lad/gentleman came into our local pool room last night with his friends. he was given 2 pieces of new chalk and a piece of fairly new chalk. when it was his turn to shoot he would drop the chalk on the floor, turn it over and put his tip on the chalk and spin it like hell. i thought he was trying to start a fire by chalking it that way....lololol.. It was hilarious and the houseman told/showed him the right way. he claims that his way is the only correct way to chalk his cue evenly. by the time his hour is up. Him and his friends had ruined 3 pieces of chalk. the house man charged them and extra .50 for using all the chalk like they did

Personally, i dont mind using a semi used piece of chalk as long as it isnt a hole.

And i always keep with me several pieces of chalk just in case, i cant get a decent piece of chalk.

Now yes i have seen people drill holes into the chalk while they wait for thier turn to shoot lol. one guy who was a newbie, would take his hand and grind the chalk on the tip untill it was hit turn to shoot lol.

But yea i have seen people get brand new pieces of chalk when comming in, and they swipe them, its like WTF.

Now as for pool halls being cheap, the NEW one in town which has been open for about 18months usta charge for glass's of Water, because the pool players didnt want to pay for the pop lol, so they would charge 50cents per glass of water lol.

The one i frequent now usta have the small 12oz bottles of water and would charge 1.25$ , while pool hall # 3 across town had 24oz bottles of water for 1$ lol. But pool hall #3 now has i think 16 or 20oz bottles for 1$.

But i will say, that poolhall #3 has the best deal on pop, you can get a 32oz cup for 1.50$ and refills are 1.25$

Guess people would rather have the hourly rates increased by .50 or so that way it is a hidden cost.

I would pay the .75 for 3 new pieces of Masters chalk if I needed chalk. But, I always have 9 new pieces in my case at all times, and I find myself leaving enough new pieces whereever I play pool anyways. As a pool player, I dont think it would matter, since I know I NEED the chalk. If I was just a walk in player of the street, I might think it was a crock to have to pay extra for it. But I gathered from the original post that used chalk still was provided anyways.

I would think that any place that would do this wouldnt have top equipment anyways. Prob would be surprised to see great tables with fast cloth etc.
