Changing a pin?

Is it difficult to change the pin in a cue without damaging it?

I have a Predator cue with 5/16x18 pin and was thinking about having someone change it to a 3/8 X 11. Any thoughts?

It's a Predator sneaky with no joint collars.

I've done bunches of them...not a problem for any quality cuemaker. Since you mentioned that its a no collar sneaky I feel I should advise you that after swapping to a big pin that for safety you will want to add a phenolic collar to the shaft. The big pin means a big hole in the shaft leaving less wood for strength. While many swear an insert is fine for strength I really would rather have a collar just to be safe. I've seen way too many big pin, no collar sneaky shafts cracked will very little effort & not from abuse. PM Ryan of Rat cues...he does top quality work with super fast turnaround...he'd be my first recommendation to handle the surgery correctly.

Thanks Varney - I appreciate the advice. I think I will contact Ryan. Thanks again.
