Changing Nitti cue weight

I’m upgrading from my old Kikel sneaky Pete looking for a better hit.
From my research I’m considering Nitti, John Spitz, Eddie Cohen, and Carmeli in the $1000-2000 range, hoping to stay on the lower end.

I’m looking at a Nitti cue for sale but it’s a little heavier than I’d want.
It weighs 19.4 or 19.7 depending on shaft.
I’d like to drop it by 0.5 but am afraid of ruining the balance.
I’m uneducated in this area so I appreciate any information you all can provide on either the cue makers I should look at along with changing weights on a Nitti.

Did you ask the seller if it has a weight bolt?

I'm having Nitti build me a cue. When he asked me what I wanted it to weigh, I told him if it's balanced correctly, the weight doesn't really matter. He wholeheartedly agreed.

I would not get so hung up on the actual weight near as much as on the balance. A well balanced cue feels good, even if heavier or lighter than you normally are used to. A poorly balanced cue feels bad, even if the exact weight you think you want.

p.s. It's killing me to wait until the fall to get my cue! Good luck!

Agreed, my personal cues are in the 19-20 oz range but when I shoot with a house cue I grab a 16 or 17, due to the lack of proper balance.

the wait will be worth it.....
you will be very happy when its delivered
congratulations on your choice of cuemaker
from my experience you will get a great cue at a reasonable price.....:).......

Thanks everyone for responding....
This is good information. I was hesitant to reach out to Chris figuring cue makers are too busy and not wanting to bother them.
I was concerned about changing weight bolts since I figured it would throw off balance. I’d hate to diminish a cue from a fine craftsman. Now it sounds like that’s probably not necessary.
I also appreciate the reinforcement of my thoughts on Nitti playability.

I agree! The wait killed me but well worth it.
