Changing shaft joint from Uni-loc Bullet to something else?

I feel I may know the answer already but is changing a shaft from Uni-loc Bullet to something else possible, let alone worth the trouble? It's on a Z3 in case that matters.

My trepidation comes from that because the joint is very niche that trying to change it could ultimately ruin the integrity of the shaft.

Thank you for reading.

Drill out the insert, plug the shaft, thread it whatever you need, I do atleast a few every week, no problem at all, if it's worth it kinda depends on the state of the shaft, Z shafts are incredibly prone to split or develop ferrule issues or both, so if yours is well used it might not be worth it, if it's in good condition, the work is gonna be in the $70-80 range.

Appreciate the knowledge drop. The shaft is brand new.

On top of what Mr. Bye posted.
Changing the joint set up has become very common.
I know, and I hear about joint changes a decent amount just reading forums or overheard a conversation between people just shooting the shit. Honestly I've never encountered the uni-loc bullet until recently so I just figured it'd be best to ask both to satiate my curiosity and to not get my hopes too high.

The bullet insert is ok. The bullet joint screw however. Is a joke, almost as bad as the ghost.

It's a very simple operation for someone with the proper machinery.
Done properly, it will have no effect on the integrity of the shaft.
I recommend finding a competent cuemaker to do the work.
