Changing the balance of an older Predator 5k4 cue

I have an older model Predator 5k4 cue which I like, but I don't like the balance, I like rear balanced cues.

This cue doesn't have a Uni-Loc Weight Cartridge System, it has weight screws like this:

I tried to replace the screw in it with a heavier one, but it didn't change the balance point much, it just made the cue heavier, reason for it is that the cue screws in the butt about 2 inches from the butt end, maybe even more.

I can change the balance by unscrewing the screw up to the butt cap, but then the screw wiggles a little and when I hit the CB it makes a weird sound.

Any solutions?

get a different cue. you'll never get it like u want. personally i've never sweated BP on a cue. You adapt/adjust to cue in short time. easy to overthink this.

I agree with garczar, but if you like the cue and if moving the weight bolt back changed the balance point to your liking, you can use something like purple Loctite to keep it from rattling.

You could also try an extension to see if that helps. I'd definitely get it from Seybert's or PoolDawg so you can return it if you don't like it.
