changing the pin

hey cuemakers ,

got a question .

is it possible to replace a knock off radial pin with the Original radial pin ?
Is it dangerous to remove the pin from the butt ? Can the wood crack ?

It is possible to replace a pin in a cue butt. It usually requires heating the pin with a small torch until the epoxy holding it breaks down so you can unscrew the pin. The are a few other methods.

Yes it is possible to damage the butt and the finish.

I have changed them with and without damage. There is a risk.
