Changing the pin?

I have multiple Predator shafts that I play with and really like, all are 5/16x14 thread. I also have a very nice Meucci butt with a 5/16x18 thread.
Question: can a cue maker or repair person replace the Meucci pin with a 5/16x14 pin?

Yes, it's a relatively simple job. Takes about 15 minutes. You might want to check the diameters of the shafts against the diameter on the butt. Some of the older Meuccis were pretty small there. They'll work regardless, but some people do not like the diameters to differ much.
I would try to find a cue maker, rather than strictly a repair person, they're likely to have much better equipment.
