Changing the Threaded Insert...on a shaft???

What are the issues behind changing the brass insert on a cue...
I'm thinking about having a 5/16-18...removed...and to have a 5/16-14...installed...

Will the new insert fit properly?

Will it seat properly?

Will it be true?

Will it hit the same as it had previously?

Would it mess up the joint collar?

Does it have to be drilled, filled, and re-tapped for the insert?

How much would it cost?


And anything else that you might add...!!!

Not necessarily. I've swapped quite a few without filling/plugging. It depends on the hole.
