Chalrie Bryant was working with Kuo on his break last night at the US Open. You can see some pictures here: http://www.xtremebilliard.com/page6.html

Kuo has always been very impressed by Charlie's break. Last night, while they were both spending some time at the X Breaker booth, he asked Charlie if he could teach him how to break.

Charlie said he woudl be more than happy to help. He spent about an hour with Kuo; afterwards, Kuo told me he felt that his break is not only more powerful, but also more precise.

I was fortunate to be there during the whole time. Kuo told me Charlie is an excellent teacher. Kuo said he felt that Charlie had made a very complicated problem very simple to understand.

I think Charlie was a real class act for helping Kuo, since they may meet each other in the tournament and that would certainly give Kuo an advantage.

I wish there were more players who would be as generous.

For those of you who are looking to learn how to break, I would highly recommend contacting Chalrie Bryant.

Kuo told me he would practise what Charlie taught him, and he expects to do even better in this year's World Pool Championship.

He has a baby face. When we were at Q master, lots of players thought Kuo was only 17 or so.:D

Obviously there's a great deal of mutual respect between these two gentlemen and a real love for the game. Kudos to both.

Yes, indeed.
Kuo has lost his match today and is now playing on the B side.
Charlie just beat Shane and is still on the A side.
Charlie is playing with a X Breaker with a X shaft. He is playing very well.
Congrat to Charlie.

His playing cue is exactly the same as yours, my friend.:)
It is a X 347, with a rubber grip.

I would love to have a big break, like Charie's. I would like to get a lesson from him some day. Richard, you should take Charlie on tour. Pre-arrange free breaking seminars at pool rooms. It would be a great way to promote X-Breakers. Do it on the off-season, that way the room owner's incentive is, a way to get bodies in the door and it should not keep Charlie away from tournaments.

Charlie Bryant offers breaking lessons, although it is not free, it is certainly money well spent.

Those who are interested can PM him for more info.

I have seen many players getting immediate results with Charlie's help.

I was playing pool with a buddy and at the same time watching last year's WPC finals live on a big screen at a lounge. Half way thru the match when Kuo was coming up to break I used my cue and pointed at where the cue ball and the 1-ball will end up on the screen and my buddy gave me a yeah sure look. Anyway he broke and cueball went to the exact same spot and 1-ball was within 6" from where I pointed at. Basically he set up so he always made a wing ball and was on the 1 into the corner.
 
That's very cool of Charlie, and shows much respect on Kou's part!

I've had the pleasure to teach 2 VERY strong players how to break. Both of them came from a 14.1 background, and had an "ok" 9ball break as a result. At the time both of them were easily 4/5 balls better than me, but for a year I worked on my break every day I worked at the pool room and I can break well. I'm not talking about CRUSHING the rack, I'm talking about how to figure out any given table, and adjust to it like Cory Deuel does.

Case in point is the TV table at the Open. Almost every player I've seen so far is breaking too hard IMO. When a couple of them slowed the cue ball speed they started making balls.

hay the hillybilly is the real deal .i Called him one day told him is was in a slump and he gave me some imfo on what is was did wrong .mind u i was talking on a phone .He told me what i need to do .so i tryed and it work realy good.I got right back on track.now i would say is this he know what he is talking about 4 real..And he has a monster brreak..I good to see hes doing good.. If he snaps this one we all will hear that Hilly Billy YELL around the world..
 
Is that

a form of 'outsourcing'? .......lol Yes, that was generous of Charlie. Most players won't do something like that because somewhere down the road, it could come back to beat them sometime.

I think it would be very cool if he made a DVD/Video lesson on breaking. That way he could reach a greater amount of players.
