Charlie "Hillbilly" Bryant

I don't know where he finished in 9-ball but I watched him beat Jeanette Lee Friday night. 7-4 I think. He made some wisecracks that were pretty funny.

When he was on his last 9-ball, a difficult but very makeable cut shot, he laid his cue on the table and took a bathroom break. Jeanette says "Oh come on let's get this over with".

He came back 5 minutes later and nailed the shot. I don't what he was trying to do but I thought it was sort of rude. He knew damn well he was could make the shot.

If you must post my results, at least please get then right. "Hillbilly" and I played a race to 7, 9 ball, which he won, for $200. Then we played a 3 out of 5 banks for $800, which I won.

It is. That would be deemed, just friendly pool. Especially against Grady. Cause, Grady likes to bet it up too.

Hey OnePocketKing, are you still going to school in Nacogdoches? If so, have you heard about Rack and Q Billiards re-opening under new management this week.

The new owner just moved back here from Arizona, where he used to own a poolhall and won the Arizona State One-Pocket Championship a couple of times. About the only game he likes to play is one pocket. In fact he's good friends with Scott Frost, who is supposed to be here this weekend.

Just thought you might be interested in checking it out if you didn't already know about it. It's located a little ways outside of town (1/2-3/4 mile maybe) on Highway 225 towards the lake.

hes a jam up player and to me has always been a good guy.......just stating the facts of his ability....[/QUOTE]

But no one has mentioned his ability to arm wrestle. He broke a guys arm one night during a friendly nickle bet at DCC.
I am just saying why would you even think you culd beat him arm wrestling??? THe funnier thing is the guy shows up the next evening walking around with his arm in a sling and people were asking him what happend?

Wonder if he ever ran into strong arm john, I heard a story about john beating some guy out of money playing pool, then arm wrestling him for a lot of cash and losing, if i recall, the other guy was a solid pool player as well as a professional arm wrestler.

Charlie Bryant is actually from North Carolina and now
resides in Houston.
Also known as Shannon or Hillbilly He plays all games very
well. In the Houston 9 ball open he has been pick of the litter over
Jeremy Jones.

He was way down my way several years ago with another player, Charlie's game was real solid with a great break. He beat almost everyone he played that I saw...

"MuscleMan John"?

I believe the guy you are referring to is called "Muscle Man John". He used to travel aroung with Breedlove back in the early 90's. They rode in a nice RV and he had a knockout chick with him.

He could play jam-up on the short track and I did see him win a few arm-wrestling contest.

They stayed in my home town for about a week and he beat everyone he played and Breedlove did not come out of the RV until about the 5th day. Then he proceeded to get the $$$$$$$$$.

Probably the same guy, i have never seen him play, heard stories about him from a few different people, read a lil about him online, strong arm from what i have heard plays notoriously slow as hell, and it really throws off his opponents, heard he was in prison for a while maybe 5 years ago, doesn't sound like the kinda guy anyone would match up with. I thought it was funny that the guy is known for being strong, but loses an arm wrestling match for thousands of dollars to a much smaller opponent.
