Charlie Williams: where is he?!

This is the last thing I will ever say here about CW and maybe you can see why my views may be onesided.

A friend of mine backed a player into a big tournament because he had no money himself. The player won the tournament and didn't even give this friend back the entry fee.

That's all :)

Now that would really P*** me off.
Your friend must really be compassionate, understanding, forgiving, etc, etc,....
Or is he just biding his time.

He owns another room in Orlando and doesn't need the money. But it was just the principal of the whole deal and sometimes it's worth a little just to find out a persons true character.

If it would have been me, I would have run back with the entry and half the winnings with a thank you + smile :)

That is absolutely despicable. I can't imagine not even having the decency to pay the entry back never mind some of the winnings like you said. When I actually had the time to play I did just that with a friend. He posted the money for me, he got knocked out early, and I eventually won. Split the money right down the middle. Just seemed like the right thing to do considering I wouldn't have won a dime if it weren't for him. Just goes to show that some people are all about the money and don't give a damn who they have to screw to get it.

Ruthless,

This is one of the problems with pool, we have more than our fair share of people like this. This is why I don't like someone just because they're good at something. I won't put them on a pedestal because they have talent at something.

We had a thread going about a top player who has anger issues, I'm sure you know who I mean. Most of the posters felt that just because he's a champion he's good for the game. I vehemently disagree! I think there needs to be a distinction made between having talent and being a good person. This room owner who put up the entry money shouldn't cut this scumbag any slack at all. This little punk*ss dude should get his butt kicked, if not physically, verbally!!

I'm glad you put this post out! This guy needs to be pulled out from under the rock he was hiding under!!! Sorry, but I got no use for people like that!!!!!!!!!!!!

Charlie Williams ....

Hey Ruthless,

This is a string about CW. I read your first sentence. This is what I understand from the balance of your post. Without naming names, you are telling me that Charlie is this person. Character assasination by omission is still the same thing. After 37 years in the business of dealing with the public, I find this to be true. Perception is reality. If Charlie is this person, say so. If Charlie is not this person, then say so. If I have understood the entirety of your post incorrectly, please let me know!

Yes the player was Charlie Williams and the room owner I won't name here.
