Charlotte NC - Pool

I'm going to be in Charlotte, NC in December. Where is a good place to play some pool? Is there a room frequented by the WPBA pro's in the area? Men's pro's?

I will probably have some non-players with me, so a room that is fairly comfortable and semi-upscale is preferred.

Rack Em' in Matthews or Smokin' Q off 49 in the University area are two of the nicer rooms...probably the only 2 I'd recommend for what you want.

Foscoe, NC near the mountains. Nice drive from Charlotte.

Very nice room with Gabriel tables.

Family Billiards is superrrrrrr. .. Tables are IMMACULATE, food, what they have, is more than reasonable and VERY good. Chris, the owner, plays well. His son plays well when he plays. Grandfather Mountain is close by for an outing, so is Blowing Rock and Boone. Both fun places to sight see. Its about 2 hours from Charlotte though. No alcohol, no tobacco, smoking or chewing.

Thanks for the leads. My convention-mates are NOT pool savey but may be interested in a social outing and I figure I can get my pool fix in at the same time.

Rack 'Em in Matthews just re-opened in a new location and is very nice for atmosphere and equipment. Kelly Fisher, Val Finney, Kim Shaw, Tiffany Nelson can frequently be found there either playing, or possibly enjoying a couple of cold drinks at the bar.

Rack'em is the spot, Kelly and Val were there tonight and so was the Friday night eightball tournament. You'all come on over and play some they have just about any size table you want to play on and great food.--Leonard
 
Thanks for the up-dates. I will see if I can steer the van in that direction.

What is the stats on the Friday night tournament? Start time is probably the one I will have to manage, but what is entry? Race?
