I unexpectedly found myself in Chattanooga today and googled the closest room to my hotel and found this gem. As old school a room as I’ve seen in a very long time. The place is an awesome joint. Has a full bar downstairs and upstairs. Upstairs has about 8 Diamond bar boxes and four 8’ Bunswick with tight pockets. Decent cloth and rails but nothing special. But the place has some character-and they let you smoke cigars which is good for me. Throw in three dart boards and a couple of decent looking ladies for so early and it’s a winner. Definitely worth a swing by if, like me, you’re too lazy to make it all the way to Atlanta as planned.

There are two locations, the one he went to was the downtown room, it opened in 82 and then the east location opened in 92. If you go here and scroll to the bottom you can take a tour of both rooms. https://www.cbceast.com/

The walk up the stairs is just filled with anticipation. At least it was for me.
After a few Blantons, a Corona, and a couple Zacapa XO’s the walk down those stairs had some anticipation too. Especially since my plane boarded at 4:45am yesterday and I was wiped. Talked to one of the league guys and it sounds like there is quite a few rooms in this area. Kinda surprising.

Sweet Melissa in Hixson is a nice place to play pool too.

Chattanooga Billiard Club East is the best room in the area hands down, as it's primarily an 8' and 9' table room, but the downtown location you visited has an incredible ambience for sure. There's also Sweet Melissa's and Diamond Billiards in the Hixson area, about 15-20 minutes from where you were. Both are predominately bar table rooms but they have a few 9' Diamonds as well. Finally, there's a third CBC location in Cleveland, TN, about 25 minutes away from the East location. It's got 4 7' Diamonds and 2 9' Diamonds.

Aside from those, there are a handful of other small rooms dotted throughout the area, but they are mostly bar box/Valley venues.

Both Locations are very nice. I bet the smoke is green quite often. Will def. check out if Im ever in Chattanooga. I would love to know how many home players there are from either location

Interested in knowing the other 4-thx
In no particular order: Golden Cue, Melbourne FLA; Peg's Pocket, Miami, FLA; Steepleton's, Lexington, KY; Toby Sweet's place in Hollywood, FLA (can't remember if it was called Gold Crown or Hollywood Billiards).

Is Steepleton’s in Lexington still open? Reopened? I thought it closed a few years ago. I was in Cue Club in Lexington a few weeks ago. Nice Diamond bar boxes and Gold Crowns downstairs.

Your right the room did close. I just remember the great tournaments and action in the late 90s.
