Is it just fair to split the table time when playing for cheap sets no matter what the outcome of the session is?

Well, it depends, normally i ask before we play, like if we want to split or loser pays. It also depends on how much we are playing for.

i mean if i am playing someone like over 20$ a set, and i am up several sets, depending on how much table time costs, i might ask the guy if he wants to split it, just to be nice to him.

But, yea it really depends on how much it costs and how much you won or lost. And how generous the winner is.

I like to split the table time, but someone is complaining it depends on how much I win and what I was betting. If I'm betting $20 I'll get the table if I win $60 or more. If I'm playing $50 sets I'll get the table $100 winner.

I agree.....

I'm gonna remember that if we play, and after 5 hours your up 1 game and have to cover the time!:). Oh thats right....you own the place!;).....Gerry

I just generally say it's based upon how much I win. If the table time doesn't suck up all my winnings, then I usually just cover it. If it's going to take up more than half of what I won, I may ask for a little help paying the time...or just split it like normal.

Really depends on what you define as cheap...

Just to help avoid these uncomfortable moments I like to make it all clear before the first ball is struck, it saves having to think so much...LOL

Yeah, I think it's alot better to have an agreement first on how the table time is handled before the start of the match. I just got used to splitting it thats why I dont bother asking my opponent.

I had some encounters with guys wanting me to pay the table time because they lost money to me, and the thing is I only won $60 and the table time is about $20 and we have been playing for 3 hours.

A Local Or Visitor?

If it is a local that is a regular - I'll pay all the time (up to the amount of the win).
If it is a visitor - WE BOTH PAY OUR OWN TIME and I make it clear before the game. Unless the Visitor turns out to be a hustler, then I'll pay the time when I bust him OR win over $300.

If I am playing sets, and know that this is the "last set", I will ask if my oponent wants to play for the bet, plus table time.

Table time.

Typically, and to avoid any misunderstanding, before we begin play I suggest we split table time. Then if I am fortunate enough to win a sizeable amount I offer to pay all the table time. The conduct of my opponent during and after the match is a major consideration whether or not I make such an offer.
