chicago area pool rooms

I haven't stopped by in a while but Red Shoes in Alsip is a great place to go for one pocket. Tell John Lavin or John Z I said hi.

I guess Pro Tyme in Orland Park is a nice pool hall. I havent' been by since they moved to their new place (a long time ago).

Both of those are in the southwest suburbs. There's always Chris's Billiards just west of the city.

Those are two good rooms in the south suburbs. Another one is Pockets in Crestwood. Chris' Billiards is on the northwest side of Chicago (4612 N. Milwaukee). Closer in to downtown are City Pool Hall, and G-Cue Billiards.
Both are very close to the Loop (within a mile or so).

Be visiting Chicago soon; can you Az'ers point out some great pool rooms with great players?

Thanks

Guru, If you're looking for the primary action/gambling rooms where the best area players are to be found, there are only two: Red Shoes and Chris's billiards - forget all of the rest - and if you're wanting action for yourself while you're here, then send me a pm..........Ghost

This is correct. On a side note, there are a couple decent weekly tourneys at Chris's, an 8 ball no handicap round robin, (Usually two brackets of 8 or so) and a handicapped nine ball tourney on Sunday. Very good players in both. Both tourneys start at 8:00pm and there's a one hour warmup included in the entry fee.

Enjoy your trip!
