Chinese lathe motor questions

Probably many of us have a chinese aftermarket sewing machine motor, brushless servo, or DC servo motor powering our lathes and other shop devices. Maybe even including the wife's sewing machine. :D

I've got 4 of them including on my cue lathe and other machines. All early 550 w versions.
When they started offering 600 watt options, i bought one for my kiln, to lift the lid. It was smaller and less torquey than the earlier 550 motors!
It sort of worked for a bit with manual lift assist, then the controller crapped out. I replaced it with an American mere 1/4 HP gear motor which has no trouble at all at the same speeds and installation geometry. (The chinese motor on paper should be over 3/4 HP)

So, getting to my question:
I want a more powerful version for a mill, metal planer aux head, and possibly wood-planer aux. feedworks.
They now offer versions at 750w, 1,000w, & up to 1500W (2HP)
But in the pictures they don't look any beefier or different than the old 550's.
Has anyone bought one (or more) of the advertised higher watt motors & what was your experience?
Are they actually larger than the 550's, and do they actually put out double or more of the torque/power?

Will probably buy from an onshore importer, but if anyone wants to comment on their experience shipping direct from China, or has a favorite dealer, i'd be interested. Trying to get my import shopping done before the tariffs hit.

Thank you in advance.
