Choking under pressure...

Thanks Cane, I think you hit on a lot of things that I am doing wrong at the present moment.

Gerry, your post reminded me that the other big thing that happens to me when I start to feel the pressure is that my decision making goes to pot! Everything feels wrong and nothing looks easy...lol. It's funny how I always seem to make the wrong decision in those circumstances. I need to start using the position drill that SJM showed me as well as spending a lot more time looking at patterns and the different ways to get shape and why I choose the path I choose.

Not really, when I miss due to pressure, it's generally because my adrenaline is pumping and I try to just get up there and shoot it before I think too much about it...lol. It results a lot of times in piss-poor mechanics.

I think you just answered your own question. Piss poor mechanics!
After 34 years in this game, it is 99% of the time I miss.
It is a matter of focusing on business at hand. Don't focus on that little voice in your head. Think about it, who has time to listen to that guy.
Stay down, stay level, follow through, and keep your eye on the ball and watch it hit the pocket. If you do all these things and have no upper body movement, the rest will take care of itself. Yes, it really is that simple.
If you do these things, (unless you have an ability to use much more brain capacity than the rest of us) you won't have time to think about choking.
There is an old saying which I still love, "worry about activities, not results".
Good luck and don't worry about choking so much.
