You aren't too far off. He has a record like the Globetrotters. He may go years at a time without booking a loser.

I'm proud to say that I made him pull up on taking my action when he was setting the line at some tournaments in the 80's. And it was a "gaff" line to boot. I beat him like six bets in a row and he told me I was "off".

I played Billy some one pocket (with weight of course) several years back at Hard Times in Bellflower. We played three fairly long sessions and I was stuck some after the first two. We had an appointment to play again, and when he showed up he had cracked his ribs in a boating accident and was bandaged up. He played anyway & it was obvious he was hurting & not up to par and I won most of my $$ back. He gave me a shot at my money when he didn't have to. Tough to beat, but good to gamble with, and that means something to me. John Henderson

Billy I is very careful, but not at all a nit. He will bet it up on his own money. I played scotch doubles with Cliff against Billy and Chris G from Chicago years ago and I was in awe as far as his knowledge of the game was concerned. after we broke even (Cliff carried us) I went and bought Billy's onepocket video (the only time I ever bought an instruction video in my life) My grandfather called Billy the second best 9baller of the late 60's and early 70's a lil tidbit "Billy I" used to be known as "9ball Billy" my grandfather told me that the only one who was a favorite for the cash over Cardone playing 9 ball was grandpa's old road partner Wimpy
