Chris' Cues ( Chris Whitaker) is located in Anna Illinois which is fairly close to me, about 45 miles so today I drove down to have him do a little work on a cue and have a look at his shop.

Took some pictures of some of his work and thought I would share it with the forum. He does some beautiful work as the pictures will show.

Here is a stunning piece of work. Everything on this cue is Ivory.

Here is a group of 4 cues. All the white on these cues is Ivory. Just beautiful.

I always prefered "Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder" ;)

I agree, what a waste of ivory on CNC...*sigh*

It's not CNC. panagraph

I don't really care for the design of any of them, however, I did get to see a couple of them in person at one of the GWA9B stops and they appear to have decent fit and finish. I must admit, though, that I didn't look too closely at them.

As they say, "different stokes for different folks!"

Of the four in the pictures, I like the one with the wrap the best, it is really nice in person. The other cues are basically show cues. Most cuemakers make a few of these over the top cues to draw people in to their booths and to show detail work.

But I can say after looking at a lot of his cues today and hitting with them and watching him work, I came away with the opinion that he is a very detailed person. I would be very surprised if any cue left his shop with even a small flaw.

Whether or not you like his designs is up to each person.

Chris is a great guy to talk to and is easy to work with (when ordering a cue). Chris' Cues can be seen at the Gateway Amateur 9-Ball Tour (GAT)_ Stops each month (unless there's a schedule conflict). He and his wife, Brenda, are sponsors of the GAT.

Here's one that was made for my collection. http://www.zimsrack.com/zimscc.html

Thanks Chris and keep up the good work!

Thanks for the good words. These are the top end cues that I have made, but they arn't just for show. The Ebony cue with Ivory spears running both directions is my personel cue. If someone wanted to buy it I would love to start shooting with the Ivory handle cue.
I'm glad you posted the pictures, I haven't gotten around to figureing out how all that is done yet.
I make a full line of cues, from the cues shown to sneeky petes, and everything in between.
Thanks again,
Chris Whitaker

Chris,

Have you had Chris Hightower make you any custom pantograph designs, or are all these his standard designs that come with his machine?

I didn't go with manual pantographs, but wow you have some beautiful work,

P.s. are your forearms sore?

Bryan,
These are all standard patterns from Chris Hightower. I have every one that he offers. There are almost unlimited combinations that can be combined.
My forearms don't hurt near as much as my fingers.
