You talked with Chris about this cue and y'all are not sure whether him or his son made it ???I think it is a flat faced 5/16x14 pin, from what Chris told me, and the cue may have been made by his son, but not sure. He told me that his son builds a line of cues that he calls the Shuriken series, and that they have a thinner handle then his cues. The joint sure is unique. Who else ever thought up a flat faced 5/16x14 pin that threads into a wood threaded joint in the shaft? That is very unique I think. Thanks for your reply.
My son built that cue. I think I may have put the finish on it as he was playing the Gem City Open pro tournament when that batch of cues was ready and went to play and I finished the cues and brought them over to the Southern Cue Show that was being held in conjunction with the tournament. I think he got 17th place which was pretty good considering how tough that field was.Chris was originally not sure if he made it or not, but he was nice enough to show my pictures of the cue to his son, and his son told him that he made the cue. So, the cue was made by his son. I originally had no idea that Chris has a son, who is also a cue maker. So I assumed the cue was made by Chris. You can see a picture of him and his son on the Hightower custom cues website, and they are both players.
