You know I see all these post criticizing Chris Walker of (Krown Cues) now Obidian Cues. I have had a lot of dealing with Chris, some good , some bad, But in general he has been very good to me. Granted he made some horrible mistakes earlier in the cue making business but I believe he has rectified most of it and of what he hasn't he is still trying. I think those of you that haven't had any personal dealing with him and are just going by what you have seen and what you have heard just stop. How do you know what kind of man he is unless you have personally had dealing with him or talked to him. I know he has a lot of problems but who among us doesn't. You think he's the only cue maker that hasn't screwed over someone. I can guarantee he isn't. I know there are a lot of members going to rip me on this post but like I say if you personally have anything done to you by Chris. go ahead but if not keep quiet. In my perspective. he's a good man and trying to help our cause.

Good things about buying a Viking or McDermott or [insert others here]:

1. They'll answer the phone when you call.
2. They'll respond to an email if you write.
3. Quality control is excellent.
4. If you pay, they'll send you a cue.
5. If anything ever goes wrong, they'll fix it for free right away.
6. "Some bad," "horrible mistakes," "has a lot of problems," "screwed over someone" don't come up.

I think we give custom cue makers way too much leeway and forgiveness.
 
WTF????? the guy is a stone cold thief who still hasn't repaid those he screwed over. Take this bullshit down the hiway. Are you related to the guy or what??? That guy's name should be stricken from this site. The fact you're trying to cover for this tool says a lot. BTW, who the fk is Kim Walker??
 
bad reputations and doing bad things to people follow you the rest of your life where ever you go.
and the internet has made that more accessible so those that have a bad rep can be identified and given a wide berth.

cue makers have either good or bad reps. there is little in between. as most of it depends on how good your word is and how you follow what you say.
the general rule in life is if you don't keep your end of the deal then you shouldn't be dealt with.

just based on your post i would tend to avoid dealing with him. but i would certainly buy a production cue before any cue maker that didn't have a perfect rep. and kept his word.

so if he wants to redeem his rep. a good start is too not take any deposits until it is finished and cues and money sent to an intermediary.
and that as well is a perfectly good way to run a custom business without a sterling rep.

Get lost pal. You want to defend a thief you're in the wrong place. I know people that have been put thru this a-hole's cue-fkery. I would never get a cue that a required a deposit so getting fk'd by this tool was never happening. Making cues to raffle off to pay bills while those with deposits placed had to pound sand is total bullshit. Unless he's paid them all back recently there's still people waiting on a refund or a cue, neither of which will probably ever happen.

maybe he is writing it with the blessings of the cue maker. i think anyone that is going for a custom cue from him will do their due diligence or take what comes.

YUP>>>>NO DEPOSIT = NO PROBLEM
 
why would you buy an auction cue. its always more than the cues value so you automatically are getting taken for a fool.
 
There are plenty of guys I would pay a deposit to, but then again they all have great reputations. There are way more guys that I don't know their rep that I wouldn't.
If you don't know who you're dealing with, don't deal.
