sweet bike Jim.. are you a member of the R1-forum.com ? great place..

was just out today.. probably one of my last rides for the year except maybe to and from work, anyways my friend who has a 2006 gsxr 1000 just whiped it out.. maybe 20 miles an hour and the plastic just vaporized... well.. not really .. but it complety busted.. like the upper and headlight and guages all just busted right off.. fee bad for him.. he just turned
EXACTLY 1 thousand miles on the nose! after we got it back to the shed and hooked the guages back on just to make sure they worked.. the odometer said 1000 and the trip meter was 01000.00.. i guess its really broken in now...

Thanks for the tip on the forum. I'll check it out.

Feel bad for your friend. I guess that's why insurance is so high. Was he ok? We've been getting alot of rain lately, so I haven't had mine out in a while. Very hot summer too, so I didn't get in as much riding as I had hoped. Always the spring though!

yeah..check out the r1-forum its huge...

and the worste part about my friends bike is, he just paid it off.. less then a year..lol.. and he only had liability on it because full coverage was an astronomical rate...

i only pay $450 a year for FULL coverage.. i got a really good policy too..
i am lucky when it comes to good insurance though, this is my 3rd bike, first one was totaled after only having it 4 months.. and the second, well.. it wasnt totaled.. but i got my moneys worth out of it..lol :) had it for over 5 years... and this r1 is my 3rd bike.. i love them.. equally as much as my cue collection! loll

Who holds your insurance policy?!?!?! I pay ~$1,000 a year through Progressive.

THis is my first street bike. I love it though! I only hope to ride it somewhere close to its capability some day. That's many years away though.

I feel for your friend. The cost of replacing that ferring isn't going to be cheap.

statefarm... although their car insurance was slightly higher then alot of companies.. but the rates for me on the bikes more than enough made up for it..
