This is a good 8 ball event to play in right before Nationals. There will be some incredibly strong players there with great competition. I know it is over a month away, but has anyone made plans to go yet? They have (I believe) 45 tables there. It has been a little while since I was last there.

Also, I think the people from the new Chicagoland tour will be there too with their info.

Hi Richm,
As raemondo said, the tables are 9 footers. I believe they have 45 tables and, they also have 5 billiard tables and one snooker table there too. It has been a few months since Chris's has had a tournament, so the regulars there are really looking forward to this event. The 2 toughest tables there are tables 9 and 10 which are usually the "feature" tables since they have the tightest pockets. The tables in the back room known as the tournament room have bigger pockets, and I believe those are tables 16-23. There more tables in the other room. They have 3 rooms overall.

If you have never been to Chris's before, you should check it out. It is one of the older pool rooms in Chicago. A good part of the Color of Money was filmed there. A bunch of their old regulars were extras in the movie too. It is just south of Lawrence Ave on Milwaukee Ave. You have to go upstairs to get to the room. About 8-10 years ago, there was nonstop action there. Usually after they have a tournament, a player can find some action regardless of the game. They seem to like one pocket and 9 ball there.

Yes, you can register at the Chicago Chris's Event

My buddy and I are most likely going for this. Can we just register on the day of?

Absolutely! There is no problem with you registering the day of the event. It is still $35 at the door or in advance. If you are going to be running late, just call to get your name down, but be sure to be there no later than noon, otherwise, you may not get into the draw.

The draw is supposed to be done by computer so it will be done fast.

From what I have heard, many players are planning on showing up.

The pool hall's phone number is 773-286-4714.

Good luck, and I hope you ad your friend do well.
