Is there a chuck that can be bought for a old craftsmen wood lathe? If so where can I find one. Thanks in advanced Ray

Most of the old craftsman lathes use our 3/4-16 thread chucks with a little modifying to the spindle threads.

Depends on how old - and which model.

As Chris said, many are 3/4 - 16. Many of the older ones are 1/2 -20, some are
5/8 unthreaded.

A pic and/or model info would help for a better answer.

Lathe

Depends on the model, spindle and TPI.
I have a older craftsman that has a MT1 spindle center and a 3/4-16 TPI on the outer of the spindle...there is lots of tooling possible.
I had recently picked up a apapter from 3/4-16 to 1-1/2-8 so if I wanted to I could fit up one of those bigboy chucks.
Again... Lots of possibilities, just need to know let us know how your set-up.
