I got the cue yesterday and I have to say it’s a beauty. Has a solid, stiff, crisp hit, shaft taper feels good and overall the cues just feels great.

It transfers spin to the cue ball with minimal effort. The craftsmanship fit and finish great also. I’m very pleased with the cue and Chuck's service.

I'll post pics. in the cue gallery. As you may have seen here on AZB his prices are very good. His AZ handle is desi2960 check out his stuf he has had a couple of cues for sale on here recently.

Keep up the good work Chuck.

Thanks,
Larry

what I can tell you

is that he loves what he does, does it secondary to his main living, and does it WELL. I have had a number of his cues. The wood pin cues hit awesome. I'm sure the other ones hit well also but have never owned one. I never had any use for a laminated shaft, then I tried his and that hits nice. He makes those himself also.

I think another thing is he uses old wood. The cue I have he made from a cue built in the 1920s. The shaft wood is that nice darker maple. This is the first cue of his I've hit with and to be honest with the wood pin I thought it might have a soft what I call dead thud sound and feel. I was pleasently surprised to feel how lively and solid it hit. Chuck's a great guy to deal with also, people here should check his cues out they are very reasonably priced.

Chuck Starkey Bandwagon

I need to sell some cues but if I ever look to buy again Chuck is at the head of the list of guys I would call. I currently own and have owned cues made by some of the best.

I own 1 made by Chuck. I had the cue for at least a year when I noticed the identifier used by Chuck to mark his cues was looking a little shaky (totally my fault but thats another story) anyway I called Chuck he responded right away that the cue was probably due for a good refurb anyway so to send it on to him. It came back as good as new - NO CHARGE- I don't know for sure but I think most guys would have responded differently (maybe not).

Each time I have called - Chuck has treated me like the old sears attitude - you know like a customer is important not like it is a chore to have to take a few minutes to listen.

Here is the best part for any players out there, based on my Starkey and the only other 1 I have hit with, he makes a great hitting cue for a great price.

I only know the man based on a few telephone conversations but I would bet anyone that makes a deal with Chuck will end up happy with the transaction cause he will makke it so.
