YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GO TO THE DCC TO PARTAKE IN THE RAFFLE!

The reason I say this is because someone mentioned last wkend that they didn't really look at the Raffle thread because they're not going to Derby. Just in case there are more people out there that think this I wanted to make this post.

The raffle is taking place online (here) and the winners will be drawn in Oct and if you win an item it will be mailed to you.

The raffle is a fundraiser for our private room at the DCC and to also sponsor an event this yr. What we sponsor is still up in the air but it could be a number of different things.

No one is making money. All the raffle items are donated and all the money that is collected will go towards the room and the event that we sponsor.

Please check out the links in my signature for all the info. If you still have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I'll be more than happy to answer anyone's questions. Just ask cueandcushion... I'm not very good at the cliff notes versions... If you ask me, I tell it in detail. :D

Sorry im not up on this but it's still pretty earky for me to think about DCC BUT

If the raffle is going to pay for the room, will any mooch be allowed to hang out there?

Zerostroke,
It's NEVER too early to start thinking about the DCC (at least for those of us who don't attend EVERY SINGLE TOURNAMENT IN THE WORLD:) :) ).

We anticipate that ONLY contributors will be allowed to play in the room. There will probably be "railbird" passes for those who want to hang around without paying or playing; we haven't hammered out the details.

The money raised will go towards room and table rental, prizes for our members-only events, and refreshments (possibly).

We also (at Greg Sullivan's and Mark Griffin's request) are considering sponsoring an Accu-Stats match between 2 prominent pro's (if we raise enough money so the member's donation will still be similar to the 2006 donations for playing privileges). Pat Fleming has said he will tape a rotation match between Efren and a prominent American player. Efren has tentatively agreed to play if we can raise the prize money - we just need to find someone to compete with him. If we do this, donating AZB members will have priority "ringside" seating.

No mooches allowed...Members Only. Last yr IIRC members were allowed to come in and have a seat but only the people that sent in money to cover the room cost was allowed to play on the pool table.

Once the raffle is over and the DCC nears we'll have a better idea of what we'll be able to pay for from the raffle and banner. If we raise enough through the raffle to cover the room, it will still be members only.

Good- I am vehemently anti-mooch.

PS- it is so damn cheap anyway, i wouldnt knock yourself out with the raffles Tim. Seems like way too much work but maybe im missing some facts.

Thanks but it's not as much work as you might think. A little bit of walking around the expo getting donations and calling up some friends in the industry to get donations. I send Donovan pics and he puts them on the website. People send in their money & I give them their ticket numbers.
Sounds like more than it is. ;)

I just want to make sure everyone knows that they don't have to go to the DCC for this because we've got some great items in the raffle. A little something for everyone and I want everyone to know that they're welcome to enter the raffle. :)
