Clean and press or new wrap?

I have a cue that i recently had the wrap cleaned and pressed, my question is when selling a cue that is over 20 years old what is best in terms of the value of the cue? Having the old wrap that is in fairly good condition that has been cleaned and pressed or to just put on a new wrap. Also i noticed the edge by the forearm and by the butt of the wrap didnt get all the way clean is this normal due to working so close to the wood . Thanks

Unless the cue is a collectable a new wrap is an enhancement. The wrap is an expendable part of the cue like the tip and ferrule. If it is a Balabushka or something don't touch anything, it can only hurt. Any restoration can be done by the new owner if they should choose.

This is after having it cleaned and pressed. You can see in the pic where it did not get cleaned all the way where it meets the butt.

Wraps, tips, and ferrules are all considered perishable, as mentioned. I don't think the value of this cue would be helped or hurt either way, whether it is a new wrap, cleaned, or just the way it is/was. Most times, the buyer will want to change the wrap color anyway....

Very nice joss! I wouldn't hesitate to put a new wrap on it. It would look great great with a black leather wrap.
