Clear Coating Wrap

Hey guys ive been making my first cue for a little while now but i seem to have made a small mistake, when i cut the channel for my wrap the linen sat above the rest of the cue but after i pressed it, it seems to be level with the rest of the cue, i was wondering weather it is possible to put my finish over the whole cue or maybe over the whole thing but a bit thinner over the wrap so it doesnt dip down in the middle,

If I am understanding correct, you put the wrap on before the finish? If that is correct you can rub a medium coat of epoxy on the wrap area and a thin one on the rest of the cue then spray your finish on the whole cue if a sealed wrap is what you desire to do.
