what is a stabilized shaft

It's a maple shaft that before it was round was stabilized.

Stabilizing is a process is which you use a force like pressure or vacuum to push liquid acrylic resin or stabilizing agent through a piece of wood. It is then baked for some time and after you have a cured and much denser and therefore heavier piece of wood that is also more stabile than prior.

It's usually used to be able to use woods in cues that were far too light or that would warp easily. In this case it is purely used for mass.

Contact him, he makes cues. I've bought several cues from him, he's a great guy, and easy to deal with. He has cues in inventory you may like, or I'm sure you can build you one.
