Cloned playing cue vs cue designed for breaking

I think the motivation for this thread came from this week when I was practicing 8 ball and broke a rack softly with my playing cue and the balls spread surprisingly well. You don't really think about this until something like that happens...you know, rack after rack breaking with my break cue (bk rush) for a few years now. Just was surprised. And then tried to hit the rack with the same slow speed with my bk rush and didn't get that spread.

I guess I should do some testing. But I really can't put a hard tip on my playing shaft to do a good test.
