Closing two pool halls after 9 years...

My wife and I decided to close our two pool halls in the Philippines after 9 years of operation. We have 13 nine foot tables to sell. All had new cloth put on them two years ago. We are giving our Brunswick Gold Crown to our daughter and her husband if they have some place to put it. That table was my pride and joy. Such a pleasure to play on. We made very little money in the pool halls. I used out of pocket money to keep them going. All good things must come to an end. I hate to do it though. Good memories.

Yes, the pool halls are closing in the Philippines. This is my first winter in Michigan in 9 years and I do hate it. I'm going to a pool hall 2 to 3 times a week trying to get all the practice I can. I hope to become a good player again. I still love to play.

Sorry to hear that. One good thing will come of it. A few other rooms will benefit from your customers making them strong enough to hold out. I know that's no solace though. Looks like rooms in future may be crowded to a point where ya just have a hard time finding an open table. Golf courses have same problem but are finding ways to cut like letting rough grow, less watering, slower greens=less mowing ea day. A pool room 4 miles from where I live put in Kareoke, darts, bar, a waitress for pizza, sandwiches etc., ping pong and pin ball. Wall TV's. Along with recording record booths. Packed on weekends and Ladies nite. Can't stay idle in business in this Country.

Halls closing in the PI?!

Even Efren can't save pool. :(

Ya can but must diversify. People are dying to find places to congregate. The Malls just don't cut it anymore. Use the square footage for attracting folks. People don't want to play 10 miserable racks of 9 ball. Streaming will always keep pool alive for those of us left that still like the game. Too many rooms are dinosaurs. Those that know how to present themselves are making good $$. It will get worse for many but very good for some.

Where are the tables located? What kind are they? I am in Subic and a friend is looking for a table.
