Cloth comparison

I have a GClll that's in an outside covered patio that although the table being coved when not in use is still exposed to the elements. Because of space constraints in my house it's the only place I could have a table, so it was this or nothing. This being said, the table has needed new cloth for some time (it's currently covered with some old 860 that is slow as a snail from being outside for so long) but I've been hesitant of spending a lot of money for a table that's going to be outside you get the idea.
I recently came across this worsted wool Tulala 300 fast playing 60/40 cloth (Temu) already cut pre cropped for a 9' table for an unbelievable price of $64.83. I've always been a forever skeptic but for this price I figured I'd roll the dice and order it, if it's really bad I can always use it for rags out in the garage. This is what's come in the mail today and after a close comparison with a scrap piece of new Simonis 860 and damn after a close comparison of feel and weave, I can't tell the difference!

This is either 'fools gold' or an unbelievably well kept secret! This bigger piece is the new Tulala cloth and the smaller one(top)s a new scrap piece of the Simonis 860

I'm sure everyone that reads this thinks that this is destined to fail but who knows given the specific conditions it may not be much different at all. I once thought about a table outside at a house I lived in for awhile had a nice covered deck. My upholstery guy had me convinced that this very specific Sunbrella fabric would've been a winner but I didn't get to try it. I'm sure someone out there has vast experience with outdoor tables.

When I moved to Florida 7 years ago, and not having indoor room for a table, I looked extensively at outdoor tables, since I have a large Linai area adjacent to my swimming pool. I ended up not buying one after actually trying a few new and used outdoor tables down here. I found the problem to be that the rubber cushions just were too slow after being exposed to the elements. I have a theory that perhaps an outdoor table with cushions made of a rubber/silicone mix might actually hold up outside - but I am am just guessing on that and no one makes such a table cushion.
With regards to table cloth, most outdoor tables offer the Sunbrella fabric, more so for its resistance to sun and moisture deterioration, not for maintaining table speed in outdoor conditions. I never found any outdoor table to maintain proper playing table speed - I doubt any fabric would suffice as every outdoor cloth will absorb moisture and the cushions will always deaden over time - just my own personal experience after some fairly intensive experimentation. However, for the price, it would not hurt to try the fabric you mentioned on an existing outdoor table.

anyone know what cloth is used commonly on outdoor tables in the Philippines?

To answer your question I think, a Pinoy could help.
It is still 90 degrees down here in SW Florida with 80+ humidity - this year since May 1 - I might as well be in The Phillipines😁
Except the pool players are better in Manila than Naples😁 But the women are friendlier in the Phillipines, despite the humidity.

Helfert would agree. :)
