Cloth tear/wear in pocket

My Legacy table with Legacy Speed Cloth. 4 months old. Installers said there was nearly enough cloth and had to stretch really hard. Now this. Is this a warranty claim? Standing at the head rail it is the left foot pocket which collects the majority of shots. (Does everyone favor a pocket?)

I'd sure say it is. They should have glued a strip of cloth in the pocket, and rounded off that sharp edge on the slate in the pocket that is clearly visible in the picture. Slates often come that way, and a ball banging against the cloth with a sharp edge behind it will cut the cloth. The other pockets are probably the same and should be fixed at the same time or they will cut the same way, eventually. Players that play one pocket generally favor one corner over the other, but I'd say not so much with the other games. The majority of play is at the rack end, though.

I just came back from the dealer and they are going to come out and look at it and check the rail hop I mentioned in another thread. He says if you shoot hard the ball will bounce back and cause this. Of course we all occasionally bang one in but I play 14.1 and one pocket so between what I play and how tight my pockets are I shoot relatively soft; but I do play for shape.

We bought our used table in Feb. Through a nice "Reputable" shop in town. In one of the pockets one became is lose and it's flapping. But they didn't put any fabric below in the corner. Totally makes sense to me.
I'll be calling the shop next week. Really dreading it. Girr
Good luck

I had the exact same pocket edge tearing problem with a new Legacy table and Championship cloth. I sent a note to Legacy and they arranged for the dealer to send out an installer to fix the problem. It took 3 re-covers before he decided to file over the pocket edges to finally resolve it.

Thanks for the info. I retire in a week so I am having him wait 'till then to come out.
