Cloth Tension

I've read on this forum on how far the cloth should be stretched, 2"-3". certain guys with superhuman arms can really get it tight, or the canvas stretcher works great. My question is this: I think I did a decent DIY job on my GC3 with simonis 760, now in the center of the table when making a bridge, I can shift the cloth ever so slightly. Very very slight, I would even call it a shift or a stretch, not more than 1mm I'd guesstimate. Is this acceptable or the cloth should feel 110% fixed on every square inch of the table?

Thanks and happy thanksgiving guys.

If installed in a retangular pattern, meaning stretching the cloth from the center of the slate in the direction of the sides and ends, you'd never be able to move the cloth in any direction. If you can move it side to side but not end to end, then the side to side stretch is weak. If you can move it end to end but not side to side, then the end to end stretch is weak, does that make any sense?

Makes absolute sense, will check to see later tonight. Not looking fwd to doing this again but I will if need be. Thanks again. I was actually referring to you Glen, where I read in somebody's post you had inhumane strength stretching the cloth! I might order the canvas stretchers and wait til I get them to re-tighten.
