I've noticed the tables where I play at have pretty fast and slick cloth conditions, it seems to be stretched pretty tight

My cloth at home has always seemed a tad slow
It's in my garage, Houston notoriously humid,
Tables heated and covered

I'm running my palm over it just now and I feel a fuzz on top, a texture to it that I don't feel on those other tables

Both mine and those where I play have simonis

I vacum mine with a small shop vac, all I can afford,

The room owners used to vacuum now they a most only wipe the cloth down with a damp rag

I've tried it at home and don't notice any difference other than the damp wrag will clean up some marks a little

Point is this fuzz I feel on my table I believe is why the table plays slower than the other tables I play on

Check the bottom side of your cover...I've had some that are nappy.

What am I looking for? Could the cover be responsible for the fuzz on the cloth?

It's not a fuzz from another fabric, the cloth itself has fuzz standing up, like hair on an arm

When I first got mine it left fabric on the cloth for a long time but it's all gone now

As there aren't many options for 10 ft covers its a pretty inexpensive cover,

A garage, in Houston? It's humidity dude. I haven't seen simonis fuzz up to any significant degree. When I had my table in my apartment in Florida I had to get a de-humidifier. Home Depot and Lowes has them. I was pulling 10 gallons of water a day out of the air. I am not exaggerating. You just would not believe how fast those things will fill up their tanks and need emptying. It definitely slows the ball down.

Humidity is affecting it that bad? It's covered when not in use
Gets 6 or so hrs of play weekend days 2 Max per week day

Thanks for the reply I'll have to find me a cheap one to start off with and see if I notice any changes

I hope the cloth installation was correct... Simonis bottom side usually isn't shaved as close as the playing side,,, unless they changed that procedure

yea, I came home to the guys recovering my pool table and they had the felt upside down and it is pretty fuzzy. Glad I caught them!

Is your garage heated/air conditioned? That'll make an incredible difference if its not.
I keep my room in the 60's temperature wise and humidity around 50'/.

not controlled temp at all, hoping to get an ac and dehumidifier at some point, it gets hot as hell in here in the summer, some days i dont even bother because of it

I'm interested if wrong side up is the case....I've seen it done on purpose rather than but
new cloth.

That's it then. You gotta get a window unit and a dehumidifier in there and it will play so much different. way faster and longer. You will enjoy it so much more!!!

Sounds like cloth installed backwards in regards to pilling you say you're experiencing. Slowness is lent to humidity of your region, you really need a dehumidifier
