How much would you guys be willing to pay for a 4-axis cnc with all linear bearings and acme leadscrews and anti-backlash nuts that is designed specifically for cue building? XYZ travel of 850mmx140mmx40mm. 80mm 3 jaw chuck and live center. Moving gantry design with elevated rails. Bosch colt router set up. Nema23 steppers. Would be in kit form with all plates drilled/tapped, all fasteners, lead screws, bearings, steppers, collars and build instructions.

Everything but the controls and software/computer.

What u just described is a downgraded xzero so I would guess significantly less than he charges

Jake said it much more succinctly than me, but here goes-

There are already a number of machines & kits out there that are good for cuebuilding; if you research them you'll see what the price range is.

Best to show a complete unit, as guys are going to want to see the quality & smoothness of operation and cuts.
They're also going to want to evaluate the design for cuemaking. Some gantry designs are no good for cuemaking.

Brand of components plays a big role.
What brand of stepper motors?
What motion controller & power supply?
What brand and size are the linear rails?
Is this based on 80/20 or some other profile? Is it aluminum stock and if so what thickness?
What steps have been taken to make the frame easier/guaranteed to go together square?
What table top?
Bosch colt router setup? That's not ideal for inlays and a number of guys have given up on that router for heavy duty work.
Printed or video build instructions? Photos if print?

You see where I'm going with this?

I look forward to reading more info.

Besides the fact you are trying to figure out how wide a margin you can make on the cheapest parts you can get, It is my opinion that a cue specific cnc is a waste of money. While a 18x48 Raptor is great for cues or a multiple head taper machine, what else can you do in that envelope? I suppose if you absolutely can't find room for a regular Raptor it makes some sense, but again......why handcuff yourself if you don't have to...?

Furthermore..WHO ARE YOU? I followed George for a LONG time before I bought an Xzero, and that was AFTER I spoke to people who had them.
