whats' nice about the diamond tables are they take coins but if you want to sell by the hour, all you need to do is turn a key and it unlock the trap. Diamond also has a system were coins can purchase a 30 minutes of pool rather than just one game. If your looking for a table with a bill acceptor diamond doesn't have one yet.

Thanks for the info, I didn't think I had seen a Diamond with a that accepts bills.

Global has a unit, called the Matrix, that is their version of the Great 8 system. I have talked to them about installing it in the Diamond. They said it will probably work but they haven't yet tried it.

Like others have said , Diamond has the key feature that opens the trap , and so does Global . Valley has the electronic table that allows bills/coins , and the feature that opens the table to hourly play but they are about 600 more than the basic coin table.

You also have the battery hassle and all that . Valley would do themselves a favor by offering the key/open trap feature that Diamond and Global offer on the basic coin table . Taking the plug out to open the table for tournament green fee style play is a hassle to the room/player. Players have to lean over in an awkward position to retrieve balls with the table opened from the viewing window plug on Valley's.

Having the key/trap feature allows for the use of any cueball.

besides, giving the players access to the inside of the table isn't a good idea. I have seen players reach in and bend the trap on purpose so the ball automatically goes to the foot of the table.

I'm a street vending operator and we currently do the dual coin mech's on the Diamond Smart Tables and has proved very successful giving a slew of options to the person playing the table.

We currently do $1.00 per single game (4 Quarters), and $4.00 per 30 minutes (4 Dollar Coins). With 4 people doing Cincy Double 9-ball, thats $2.00/hr per person. or $4.00/hr per person with 2 people. Pretty respectable as typical pool halls charge from $2.50/hr to $5.00/hr per person. The timing feature on the Diamonds can be placed on any sized Smart Table, 7' and 8', it is standard on the 9'.

We use the AC2003 American Changer with dual hoppers, whereas if a customer uses a $1.00 or $5.00 bill the coin machine dispenses quarters, and a $10.00 or $20.00 bill will dispense dollar coins. The AC2003 also has a coin mech to recycle the dollar coins back to quarters making it a masterpiece for a attendant-less pool hall...

The reasoning behind using quarters and dollar coins is to satisfy the room owner to use the machine to produce quarters for the establishment's cash drawers. Since dollar coins are very unwanted in the normal world outside of a game room or laundry mat.

If you want to save money in your pool room not having to hire a separate attendant to keep track of Drivers Licenses and Pool Balls. Then spend the extra $500 per table for the Diamond Timing system..

Take a good look at Shelti ... Well made in the USA and the price will surprise you compared to others ... I wouldn't hesitate to fill my room with them ...;)
