Does anyone know if there is anyone who makes a collapasable wooden rack?? I've been looking at getting a decent wooden rack as the ones at my local poolhall are garbage but i'm not to keen on the idea of having to carry it around with me. I've done a (very) quick pic in ms paint to show what i mean. If it could be broken down then it would easily fit into my case which would be great.

Any help is appreciated guys!

I saw one before that looked like two pieces of would with a hinge on it. It was cheap two. All you di was put the balss in the pattern and squeeze it in place.

I think I have a few plastic collapsable racks at home. I'll see if I can find them and take a pic or two for you when I get home later tonight.

Not collapsable

but I am getting more and more curious about the Chameleon rack. I saw on
ESPN the other day, when they were showing the SKINS final between George and Jeanette and Johnny and Jennifer, that they use the Chameleon rack, and it looks to rack 8 and 9 ball good.

It sells for $59.95.

Cheers buddy.

I'm surprised i haven't seen one myself as to me it seems like a good idea. I'm sure its possible to make a rack that could be broken down but that would be really solid when put together.

If i can find what I'm after i think i might have a go at making one myself.......

The Chameleon racks have just become available over here in the U.K but I've yet to see one in real life, certainly a very interesting idea. Over here they sell for £60!

I probably wouldn't buy the Chameleon rack. Even at only $59.95, it seems kind of gimmicky. Any configuration can be racked perfectly well with a standard rack. My favorite rack right now is the Diamond rack. I own one but I honestly don't remember what I paid for it. It was "tournament used" but looked brand new when I got it.

Looking at the packaging, this one was made by Brunswick and is copyright dated 1978. I don't even remember where I got them.

Thanks for the photos bro!

Thats exactly the idea that i had in mind. I'm sure it would be pretty easy to get a standard wooden rack and make it so that it could be broken down in a similar way.
