I'll be passing through Columbus in a few weeks and was wondering what are the good poolhalls, i.e. good ninefoot tables good players etc?

LOOK IN THE PHONE BOOK

Hahaha

Very funny, I would've never thought of looking in the phonebook. Of course I can find where they are at from the phonebook, what I'm wondering is which poohall is the best i.e. ninefoots, players, etc.

Go to Players Billiards on the corner of Veterans Parkway and 54th Street.

We're working on a website, but we have ten nine-foot tables (eight are Brunswick Medalists, two are Diamonds) all covered in Simonis. Three rooms with bar boxes, a darts room, lots of televisions, beer and wine at the bar, full menu (great food).

Thanks

Players Billiards has a little action in there. Most of the people are nits though. There is an old man there that likes to gamble (i forgot his name). There's probably about 8 players that are at a low b level and under that like to gamble a little. Catching them is the hard part. Also, there is Golden Cue somwhere down there. When I took a road trip there I played this kid named Randy Lee. He likes to talk a lot of crap but he will gamble and plays pretty stout. If you travel across the border into Opelika, Alabama there's a guy named Marcus that's juicy right now. He plays better than everyone down there though. Except for Duane in Columbus but Marissa told me he doesn't play anymore so you don't have to worry about him. There is also David Trest, Matt Bulfin, and Guido in Opelika sometimes. David and Matt play a little better than Marcus. Guido and Marcus are about an even game.

Those guys play alright. DeWayne is the best around here, but no, he doesn't play anymore since he got married. A terrible shame and waste of talent. Matt and Guido don't play much anymore either since they have girlfriends, and Guido has a baby now.

guido has a baby? wow thats crazy. the last time i saw him was a few years back he was on the road with david. now thats a cray guy. Guido always struck me as kind of a cool cat while david just seemed like he needed to be on that show jackass.

oh and bigsam, whoever you are, you should be getting paid for info like that.

Be careful, you could make these players mad posting names and level of play. Beatle.........

thanks everyone.

Thanks everyone for the info. More info than I need really. I don't play for money, well atleast not my own, well atleast not usually. Ok sometimes, but rarely, alright ALL THE DAMN TIME. J.K. Really I don't usually play on my own money and I'll be all by my lonesome.

Choose a different line of work...

That was probably his intent. I can't stand seeing people knocked on here.

If players dont want to be knocked then either give someone in each town a cut to steer you or choose a different line of work. I cant tell you how many times Ive been knocked in golf and thats not even what I do for a living!

well i hope that dewayne never plays pool again (which is doubtful) because you definately just knocked his future action

His wife will not allow him to play (especially gamble), they have two kids to care for (from two of her previous relationships), and another on the way. I can tell you for certain, his pool playing days are over.

Any pool player who comes through Columbus knows that he is/was the best in this area. There's no knocking there.
